9 Balcony Concepts From Scandinavia (Pictures)

Balconies is a great way to add some extra space to your small home. It’s always nice to enjoy a glass of wine in the evening sun at the balcony!

Let’s start with some examples of Swedish architecture.

We just came back from a photo shoot trip to mid-Sweden.

Big spacious balcony in swedish style

This Swedish home is found outside Bullerby, just 4-5 hours north of Gothenburg.

We love how it features a very spacious balcony with lots of space to entertain friends and family.

You’ll often find a little part of the house with a lower ceiling and a balcony like this on top. Just beautiful.

Balcony with slide down to the garden

This house is quite unique. It’s originally built for a theme park called “Astrid Lindgreen’s World” in the small town of Bullerby in Sweden. We went in there to shoot some pictures of classic Swedish architecture.

The slide form the balcony to the garden is just a brilliant twist!

We love it!

Classic Balcony on top of entrance

This is a classic balcony design from Sweden as well.

The balcony is built on top of the entrance part of the house which creates great support for the structure and frame.

Here’s another similar balcony in the same style:

The house here is older and a good example of classic Scandinavian building style.

We love the white wooden fence around the balcony. Very cute and fine detail!

This house was actually pointing toward a really beautiful view over town – a great place for an evening snack as they sun goes down.

This last example from our trip to Sweden is also a classic Scandinavian home with a rather spacious balcony.

The design is slightly more open in this one with a picket-style fence to shield the balcony. The wall-mounted lamps creates a very beautiful atmosphere and ambient lighting at night time.

Swedish Home with balcony over entrance

The next one is also a Swedish home with a balcony above the entrance, kinda like the one above. But this one has two sections – almost like a double balcony.

The windows also have super-cute little awnings. Lovely!

Big house with balcony on the side

We LOVE the many details on this old home we drove by in Sweden.

The balcony is placed on the left side of the house (toward the garden) and two majestic pillars hold the front entrance to welcome you home.

The balcony has an almost royal atmosphere with the shiny steel railing.

We’ve also tried to render some beautiful balconies for inspiration and we’d love to share them with you!

Tiny House With Awesome Glass Balcony

white tiny house with terrace

This home made entirely in white, also features a wonderful balcony.

The two stories of the house are positioned on top of each other in such a way as to create a nice balcony space that generates shade for the entrance part of the house.

Beautiful work!
