When it comes to different and creative architecture, Frank Gehry is just one of the best. He typically designs really big monumental buildings, but once in a while he also worked on smaller projects.
We’ve found some of the buildings he’s worked on that can inspire home owners to think a bit outside the box.
We also generated some examples inspired by his style, but let’s start with some of his own works!
Gehry House (Santa Monica, California)

This little home is a modern bungalow.
It was transformed in 1978 into a hallmark of deconstructivist architecture, with unconventional materials like chain-link fencing and corrugated metal.
Very cool and unique.

Designed in 1987 for Mike and Penny Winton, this guest house is a collage of different geometric forms, each clad in a different material.
Also some of the smaller projects Gehry worked on.
Louis Vuitton Building

This surely is one of his more famous buildings. The Louis Vuitton building.
We love how he plays around with the external shapes with pointy angles and odd shapes!
A fantastic place to go visit.
Keep Memory Alive Event Center

This shows just part of the bigger building called “Keep Memory Alive Event Center” in Vegas.
Another very beautiful Frank Gehry building to get inspired from.
We love the more regular windows that makes it suitable for “everyday use” that would also work well for a home or villa.
University Building

While this is also a bigger building, some of the elements could inspire angles and shapes for smaller home.
We love the swirly roofing and how the shiny elements (typicaly Gehry!) adds so much atmosphere and style to the finished building!
Now let’s look at some ideas for smaller homes and houses we rendered for inspiration, based on Frank Gehry’s style.

Geometric House
Now take a look at this marvelous rendering, I love how the geometric exterior blends well with the irregular shaped windows.
Plus, this house boasts a tiny square balcony with a floor to ceiling windows.
The architecture here isn’t just thinking outside the box; it’s reshaping the box into a fashion statement!
