Covered decks or porches are great for rainy days as well as hot summer days where you need shade.
We’ve curated some ideas from different parts of the world to inspire you.
Let’s get started.
Covered Deck With Green Plants

This deck is very beautifully done.
We love the wooden floor and the simple fence around it – but the hanging plants really frame it beautifully!
So good.
Half-covered Deck

This deck is also gorgeous.
We love the wooden log pillars and how they are decorated with curtains – an unusual feature for a deck but a good idea for really warm days.
The next deck is more like a patio.
Patio-style deck

This is a great way to create shade on warm days.
The permanent structure is sturdy and could even work in areas with storms – which is something you need to take into account in most states these days.
We also love the chandelier style lamp!
Swedish covered deck with wooden details

This little deck is made in old Scandinavian cottage style. We came across it on our roadtrip around Sweden.
It’s typical Swedish architecture to carve out beautiful details around the ceiling and at the top of decks and front porch coverings.
We’ve also made some renderings for inspiration.
Home With covered terrace
We really like this little wooden home as well.
We came across it on a walk in the city center of Aarhus, Denmark.
Very cute!

Small Deck with ambient light
This home rendering shows a garage in the basement floor and on top we find a beautiful deck for relaxing.
The elegant metal railing is very subtle and fits the dark exterior of the house perfectly.
We love it!
