Gates are necessary in modern city streets. We’ve made a list of some of the more extravagant and beautiful examples we’ve come across during our travels.
Heavy Metal Gate With Spikes
This gate is made to keep people out – no doubt about that. But it’s also a very pretty gate with lots of details!
Notice how the lower part of it has a covered section while the top of the gate is more open. This makes it hard to climb the gate.

Fully Covered Gate Entrance From 1900
This gate is made especially to fit this entrance. It’s completely impossible to get passed it and still it doesn’t look too intimidating.
The rounded details at the top and the beautiful patterns makes it somehow inviting to look at.
Metal Gate With Geometrical Pattern
This gate is also very beautiful.
We love how it’s mounted into the entrance opening rather than being placed at the outside. This allows the owners to get shelter from the rain while opening the gate.
The flower jars also makes the home look inviting.
Low Metal Gate With Rounded Top
This gate is a bit more subtle.
Notice how it doesn’t extend all the way to the top. It probably won’t keep everyone out but it’s still a good and sturdy gate to protect the perimeter.
Low Metal Gate With Spiky Top
This gate is also lower than usual but with the pointy top finish it should keep thieves and burglars out.
We love how simple it is while still being very effective.
Modern Metal Gate With Automatic Opening Mechanism
This modern gate has an opening mechanism that you can see on the left part of the gate.
You just press the door code on the little box and this gate will let you in.
No need for keys!
